Young performers and composers get together for one week of intensive rehearsals, workshops and classes and present their work in the final concert on August 30th. Members of the Divertimento Ensemble, attend as Ensemble in Residence to coach the musicians and also play together with them.
Michael Kidaisch holds classes in improvisation, Reinhard Flender and Verena Mogl offer courses in career coaching and presentation. The violinists Shanh-Shi Chang and Clarice Rarity, the cellist Andrew Power and the percussionist Patrick Nolan participate in the framework of the ULYSSES-performer-journeys, and also the composers Giulia Lorusso and Stylianos Dimou will take part in the Academy as part of their ULYSSES-journeys. Two pieces of music by both composers are included in the musical program, and they have the chance to assist the musicians in the rehearsals.
They also attend Master-courses in composition with the ISACM composers Gordon Kampe and Fredrik Schwenk.

The aim is to offer all participants the possibility to improve and professionalize their approach to contemporary music on various (both practical and theoretical) levels, establish connections with other performers and composers from various contexts and increase their experience.
