The Internationale Ensemble Modern Akademie offers in cooperation with the Gaudeamus Muziekweek a composition seminar.
The IEMA-Ensemble 2018/19 includes 14 artists: 12 musicians (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, percussion, 2 piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass), one composer and one conductor are part of this IEMA year.
Four young international composers in total (the IEMA composer, 2 pre-selected composers by the ULYSSES Network and 1 recommendation by Gaudeamus Muziekweek (see below)) get the opportunity to create world premieres in two steps.
Following the first period with “try-outs” in Frankfurt (DE) in spring, the young musicians and composers now reach the 2nd step of the project with final rehearsals in Frankfurt before the World Premieres that are presented during the Gaudeamus Muziekweek in Utrecht on 6th September 2019.

Following the World Premieres in Utrecht, on 6th September at Tivoli Vredenburg in the framework of Gaudeamus Muziekweek, the program is performed once more on tour in Frankfurt (DE) at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main on 23rd September 2019 at 7.30pm, under the direction of Lucas Vis and Musashi Baba.
