Composer Exchange Program impuls – Royaumont

For 2012/ 2013 and 2014/2015 impuls and Fondation Royaumont/Voix nouvelles in France have established an exchange program for the support of young composers of excellence.


Thus also impuls 2015 will host one of the participants of Royaumont´s Composition Session 2014, in return one of the composition participants of impuls 2015 will be invited by Royaumont in August/September 2015 (24.8.-12.9.2015) and profit from all the offers this established program holds.
The composers selected are offered free academy access, free lodging and coverage of trip up to a certain amount.


Out of composers of the Royaumont Composition Sessions 14, the composer selected for impuls 2015 in Graz (AT) is Raphaël Languillat.



Born in Morocco in 1989. He stops his studies in french-german law to devote himself to
composition in 2010, joining Daniel D’Adamo’s class in Reims CRR and graduating from Reims University with a bachelor degree in musicology. He received Philippe Manoury’s advices in June 2012 at « Manifeste 2012 » (Ircam, Paris) for a workshop with the Arditti Quartet. In 2013, he is selected for the festival Tage Neuer Musik Krefeld and takes part in 2014 to the composition session Voix Nouvelles in Royaumont. He continues his studies in Master degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt under the guidance of Gerhard Müller-Hornbach and Orm Finnendahl. His works were performed by the Arditti and Mivos quartets, l’Instant donné, Accroche Note and hand werk ensembles.
The composer for Royaumont will be selected upcoming spring amongst the impuls 2015 participants.
